Bienvenue à ALBI patrimoine culture gastronomie
Welcome to ALBI, let's get to know each other if you would like.
I am your host Françoise. I am retired. Previously, I was a teacher for 30 years, then I became a qualified and experienced independent trainer in French-English Literature, while at the same time having an activity focused on tourism: welcoming visitors from France and internationally for a simple accommodation during a tourist or professional stay, or on a full board basis to learn French in immersion at my place while discovering the treasures of Albi and our Occitanie region.
Here is now an example of a typical day for a full immersion stay:
The three meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will be eaten with me unless you prefer to eat out. I love cooking and I am fortunate to have a wide choice of local products in Albi, such as meat, cheese, fruits and vegetables, bread, honey, and wine, which the most gourmet among you will remember, I bet.
In the morning from 10am to 11am, you will have the opportunity to attend a 50-minute French lesson. My lessons are based on authentic and relevant documents, aiming to help you improve your oral French skills.
As much as possible, I am very flexible, so in the afternoon I will be available to accompany you on local visits or activities that match your interests.
The most iconic places in Albi are the Episcopal City - classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2010 - the cathedral, which is said to be the largest brick building in the world, and the former episcopal palace now Toulouse-Lautrec museum, which deserves a visit for both its architecture and collections.
If you enjoy historical trips and adventures, you will undoubtedly find the visit to the Lapérouse museum surprising and fascinating.
There are still so many things to see in Albi that you probably won't have time to see and do everything you have left to discover.
