Hello! I am Lourdes, Purchasing Technician. I live with my husband Jose and three daughters in Silla, 12 km from Valencia, Spain. We have four children: Eric, Alba, Daniela, and Lara. Eric has moved out, and we are offering his individual room for your stay. We are a friendly and active family who loves to travel whenever we can. We welcome you to our home and look forward to sharing the experience of living with a family during your stay. We live in a townhouse in a residential area, which we share with our two dogs, Hook and Kyra. Valencia is located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain and is one of the main tourist destinations in Europe, thanks to its perfect combination of a mild climate, beautiful beaches, countless artistic expressions, excellent cuisine, and an endless life both day and night. In recent years, it has become the most sought-after destination for European students in university exchange programs, as it is also a safe city that offers fantastic value for money, providing an excellent quality of life. Valencia is truly amazing, and we are used to welcoming people. In fact, we are very proud of our place and our local culture. We will speak Spanish all the time, of course, but our daughters also excel in English, so communication will be guaranteed. You will enjoy our outdoor lifestyle and the cultural offerings of Valencia, with occasional weekend getaways to nearby places (Sea, Mountains depending on the season), or cultural visits, museums, exhibitions... We are experienced travelers and like to find the best deals, especially for children. Valencia has a lot to offer, but we also have a second residence on wheels: our motorhome. We travel with it to all sorts of places: city, countryside, sea, mountains. We enjoy hiking, practicing Nordic walking, and doing outdoor activities. Jose is a fantastic cook (we like healthy food and care a lot about nutrition). He cooks everything, but his specialty as a good Valencian is our Paella, Fideuá, Arroz Negro... He is the official cook. Alba is very homely; she likes being at home and loves children. She works as a teacher at an Occupational Center. Daniela loves going out with friends, going to the movies, shopping... She is studying for a degree in Business Administration. Lara loves volleyball and also enjoys going out with friends; she is studying a degree in Aesthetics and Beauty. We are committed and have family in the area. We usually get together some Sundays at home to make a Paella for everyone to eat. I have a flexible work schedule and work from home three days a week. Jose is at home as he has a disability, which means there is always an adult at home. We like to treat guests as we would like our children to be treated when they stay with a host family abroad. Jose is not a language teacher, but I can help with reinforcement classes of our language, as well as clearing up many doubts regarding Spanish vocabulary and grammar. We offer our house for students aged 18 to 22, full course stay (June to September). We have the IES ENRIC VALOR 100 meters from the house. And Valencia capital is 10 minutes away by train.
