Meet your host family: Bronwyn in Ireland

Welcome to Bronwyn family home!

Our family of 3 live in a spacious 3-bedroom semi-detached home.
I am an administrator for an IT company, my husband is a chef at a corporate canteen, and our 8-year-old son attends Primary school.
We are a close and loving family, and have lived abroad for several years, teaching English in China and Vietnam. We know firsthand how daunting, yet exciting it is to stay in a foreign country, and to be unfamiliar with the language and culture.
We love to walk, explore and visit places of interest, which we do most weekends.
We like spending time together over a meal, playing games, reading books, and watching movies and series.
We would ensure warmth, comfort, safety, and good company for any student wishing to stay in our home.

Your Irish immersion experience :
A typical day with us

Week days: Some days I wake up early to go to the gym before the rest of the house gets up, otherwise we wake around 7am and get ready for the day. We eat breakfast together and then head off to school and work. My husband works morning shift or afternoon/evening shift.

My son either goes home with a friend after school or I collect him and bring him to my office. I finish work at 5pm and head home to prepare dinner (in Ireland it's sometimes called 'tea') and do some housework while my son finishes homework or spends some time playing on the Xbox. We eat dinner together, watch some TV and then it's bath time. After my son goes to bed, my husband and I finish cleaning up the kitchen and then relax by watching some TV before heading to bed to read before lights out.

Weekend: Sleep in a little, followed by breakfast and possibly a visit to the shops to stock up on groceries and supplies for the house. We may plan a trip to a nature park or forest to go walking and have a picnic, or a visit to a castle or abbey to explore. Possibly arrange a visit with friends for coffee or a meal.
