Welcome to Wendy and Philip's - English immersion for 8-18 year olds
We are an English family of 4 people: Wendy, Philip, Daniel, and Joshua. We have been living in Normandy for 16 years.
Wendy is a qualified TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) English teacher. For the past 7 years, she has been teaching trainees to deepen their knowledge of English, focusing on spoken expression, comprehension, and grammar. Before coming to France, Wendy was the Sales and Marketing Director of her own company in the UK for 10 years. She also worked as a Senior Consultant in Human Resources for Croner Consulting in the health and safety sector for 5 years.
Philip has been the Director of his own building company (carpentry, masonry, and roofing) in Normandy since 2008. Before coming to France, Philip was a Rugby coach in England and known for his leadership with young people aged 10 to 18.
Daniel, who is 27 years old, is bilingual and fully integrated into French life. He holds a BTS Sales degree (Caen – Calvados) and currently works for Renault France. Daniel is interested in rugby, football, and music.
Joshua, who is 20 years old, is also bilingual and fully integrated into French life. He completed his studies in France, from middle school to high school, and is now a Surveyor working in Paris.
All our stays are approved by the DDCS in Manche through the minors' reception online procedure. All our stay files must include the following documents: educational project, liability insurance, criminal record extract, diplomas, registration documents and activity certificates, minors' health record sheets, and hospitalization certificate.
We offer a wide range of cultural and recreational activities throughout your child's stay: Ice skating, swimming pool, hiking, beach and swimming, visiting museums and exhibitions, bowling, tennis, tree climbing, laser tag, go-karting, zoo...
They are scheduled at the beginning of the stay and allow your child to discover our region:
Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo, Bayeux Tapestry, Granville, Villedieu les Poêles...
And also many activities at home:
English cooking, board games, crafts, arts and crafts, video games...
And outside the house:
In addition to the fact that we take great pleasure in welcoming students to our home to discover our English family culture, our experience and professionalism have allowed us to understand that good learning also involves fun and relaxation.
Therefore, we have a large secure garden with many activities:
Walking, trampoline, football, table tennis, pétanque, biking...
Your children will be supervised 24/7 by our family and will evolve in an environment where joy of living and a desire to learn prevail.

We are an independent family offering a stimulating learning program for your child. Our experience, professionalism, and quality teaching make our stay an unforgettable moment and allow your child, aged 8 to 18, to make rapid progress during school holidays.
Because we love to host and appreciate contact with young people, our English stay, in addition to daily improvement in English, will leave pleasant memories for your child. If you are looking for an excellent language stay, this is the right one for you!
- For primary and middle school students: 2 hours of English per day (INCLUDED IN THE WEEKLY RATE)
- For high school students: 2 to 2.5 hours of English per day (INCLUDED IN THE WEEKLY RATE)
Your English learning vacation will be with Wendy, an English teacher. After an initial evaluation on the first day, our lessons will be adapted to meet the specific needs of each student. You will experience a different learning experience: fast, in total immersion, but also fun.
Your English learning vacation will be with Wendy and Philip, English teachers. All students are grouped according to their age and level for a more personalized learning experience with two English teachers. We encourage and help all students to speak English during their stay, building their confidence in using the English language. Immersion in a '100% British' environment is guaranteed as we spend the whole day together: meals, lessons, activities, and evenings. This way, we encourage our students to speak English on all occasions. Your child will be fully integrated into our family life. We welcome students of all levels, from beginner to advanced.
Stays start on Sunday afternoon at 4 PM and end on Saturday morning at 11 AM.
Typical daily schedule:
Breakfast and getting ready 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Private English lessons 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Participation in lunch preparation and family lunch 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Family outing (Mont Saint Michel, go-karting, laser tag, St. Malo, etc.) 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Free time to call parents and keep a journal of the stay 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Board games, conversation, English TV 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Participation in dinner preparation and family dinner 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Free time 9:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Bedtime depends on the student's age, around 10:30 PM.

Je m’inscrit depuis trois ans et encore une fois , j’ai passé une super semaine. Chaque fois Wendy et Philippe nous proposent des activités sympas. Cette semaine on a même été a Rennes faire un Escape Game mémorable, j’ai adoré car je n’en avais jamais fait. Les cours d’anglais me plaisent car on ne s’ennuie jamais et je sens que je progresse.
