We welcome guests of all ages ;-). You are never too old for an adventure ;-).
Everybody is welcome ;-).
We are a Swiss-Floridian host family living in Deland, Florida. I am a registered nurse originally from Switzerland but have lived all over the world. My husband is a Floridian IT (Computer) manager and works in Orlando. We have 2 children, born in 1999 and 2013. We do have 2 friendly/loving and clean Chihuahua dogs. Our cat is outside at all times/an outdoor cat ;-).
We would love to welcome you and host you in our cozy home. I have traveled around the world 3 times and do speak 6 languages. I helped out in 3rd. world countries after Tsunamis, worked with poor street children in Cartagena, Colombia, South America. I love the diversity of people, culture, religion, countryside's etc...
It is very important to be open-minded, see what is out of the box and learn new cultures and languages.
If you travel, you become a different and better person. You will mature in a different and positive way. Traveling opens your mind, your soul, and your heart.
This unique adventure, experience, and opportunity, are memories for life and will be treasured forever in your heart :-)
OUR WEEKLY AND MONTHLY """RATES"""" VARY, depending on the needs and plans of our guests. For our ADULT GUESTS, we offer half board and bed and breakfast.
We do have SPECIAL PACKAGES and DEALS for students, which includes 3 meals (picnic/fast food/restaurant), guest room with private bathroom, sightseeing trips, pick up to/from Orlando/Sanford/Daytona beach airport, laundry etc.... Please contact me for further information/questions and concerns.
PRIOR OF ACCEPTING A BOOKING, WE LIKE TO HAVE A GREET AND MEET ONLINE /video call chat, get together ;-). This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, explain our daily routine/adventures and answer all of your questions/concerns ;-).
The prices you see below, is a rough estimate. Therefore, just let me know what you are looking for and we will try to make it happen :-). It just all depends on the current economy, inflation...etc...

We host 1 student or 1-2 adult guests (couples) at a time. This gives us great quality time to emerge into the daily routines and adventure ;-).. Therefore, the space is limited as we only take 1 reservation at a time. Book in advance or get on our waiting list to reserve a hot spot especially during summer time (June-August).
If you like to take English lessons, I would need to know (prior to your booking), on which level you are (A-B or C )???
What would you like to focus on? Conversation? Reading? Writing? Pronunciation? etc...
We had students/guests of all ages, from all over the world.
I will always dedicate myself and my time to our international guests as much as I possibly can. With our guests, I try to do as many activities/sightseeing trips as possible. It will be one on one with me as your host and on the weekend, my husband and our son will join us for possible activities 😁🙏…
Please, be aware that sometimes, I still need to take time for our personal business...I also have to clean the house from time to time, do laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, bring our son to piano/sport lessons, work together with my husband in the front/ backyard/cut grass etc…
We also do have an Airbnb/Condo by the beach, which I clean from time to time. This cozy place is also beneficial for our guests, as they can use the resort pool and hot tub with a front view to the ocean/beach ;).
With our international students, we explore the Floridian life, do adventure excursions to historical places, wildlife observation, visit different beaches, lighthouses, national parks, boat rides, springs, go shopping etc......
About our excursions/sightseeing trips::::
In today's modern world, (in ONE click and 1 second) you can be just everywhere on this planet through Google/YouTube. You can look up historical places/tourist attractions etc.. I have decided to keep a little sparkle, mystery, and surprise for my guests when we go on sightseeing trips. I prefer not to reveal too much information prior to a trip, as I want to keep the fire, the curiosity and the
goosebumps up ;-) I hope you understand what I mean ;-)
IMPORTANT !!!!!!!! SIGHTSEEING TRIPS !!!!!!! WILDLIFE !!!!!!!!!!
If you book a trip with wildlife observation like for example; dolphins, alligators, monkeys, manatees etc.... WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE with 100% what you will see, as animals have their own schedule ;-. Mother nature is just unpredictable ;-).
We usually DO NOT visit the Orlando Theme Parks with our students/guests like expl: Disney World, SeaWorld, Legoland, etc... as they are very expensive.... BUT !!!! ;-) !!!
If we, as a family, decide to go there for a birthday/anniversary celebration or just because we feel like it, then of course the student/guest is welcome to join us :-)....
English will be spoken at all times. Besides English, I do speak Italian, French, Spanish, German.
One very important thing, about our students.
We are a neutral family, spending a lot of quality time with the student and are very open-minded. We often earn the students' trust, which leads to deep, serious, and important conversations. Sometimes we have conversations where parents are not even aware of their child's personal problems or struggles. We, as a host family, have plenty of time to talk with the student about his/her school issues/bullying, parents’ divorce/love relationships etc....
We never ever force a conversation on our students. We are here to help and listen :-).
We offer:
- One guest (or 1 couple) at a time.
- Transportation to and from airport Orlando/Sanford/Daytona Beach.
- Planning and carrying out private trips, to exciting and adventurous places/beaches/springs etc.... Watch out for Floridian wildlife (dolphins, alligators, wild boars, snakes, bears etc...), go on adventurous hikes, visit historical/local places and much, much more ;-).
- Room with private bathroom. Sometimes we do have apartments available...
- Full board = Breakfast- Lunch- Dinner (incl. picnic/fast food/restaurant etc..).
- Half board and bed and breakfast for our adults.
- 24-Hour Care
- English will be always spoken with our guests.
- Laundry as needed
- Access to beach, pool/hot tub
I had an incredible 3 weeks stay, this family is extraordinary, always present, attentive and very welcoming. Nicole and Robert are always attentive and try to organize as many things to do as possible during the stay. They were so kind to me. Their son Lucas is adorable and very endearing. Their whole family is really great, I haven't been bored once in three weeks, they are all very attentive and worked hard for me to spend an incredible stay! I really felt like I was part of their family from the start. I had an incredible three weeks that I will never forget! I highly recommend this kind and adorable family, whether to discover Florida but also to learn English, they were very patient with me regarding the language and all helped me a lot to improve. I hope you get to know this family and have the chance to spend a stay with them ! Thank you for this amazing stay!
Séjour incroyable, fantastique, magnifique ! Accueil chaleureux, enthousiaste, encadrement au top ! Notre fils Yannaël a pu visiter toute la région, tout voir dans la région: en somme la vie américaine au quotidien avec toute la famille, y compris avec le fils de 11 ans qui a été adorable. Nicole prend son rôle très au sérieux et est vraiment à l'écoute. Super expérience !!!
Je suis la fille d'Eric et j’ai eu la chance cet été de passer 2 super semaines en séjour linguistique chez Nicole et Robert. J’ai été accueillie encore bien mieux que je ne m’y attendais. Pendant ces 2 semaines, Nicole et Robert ont été très attentionnés, à mes petits soins et je me suis sentie comme chez moi. Pas un seul jour je ne me suis ennuyée, ils m’ont fait découvrir leur ville et ses environs par le biais de plusieurs activités, accro-branche, promenades, plages, zoo, visites etc... je garde donc un souvenir inoubliable de cette super expérience qui est à vivre une fois dans sa vie. N’hésitez donc pas à passer un séjour chez eux, rares sont les personnes aussi accueillantes, bienveillantes et chaleureuses comme Nicole, Robert et leurs enfants.
Ma fille de 17 ans a séjourné 15 jours dans cette famille. Ce fut pour elle une excellente expérience, aussi bien pour la langue que pour la découverte de la région. La famille s'est occupée pleinement d'elle comme si c'était sa propre fille. De la prise en charge à l'aéroport jusqu'au départ, ma fille était très bien encadrée et en totale sécurité. Par ailleurs, pour avoir rencontré cette famille à la fin de son séjour, j'ai pu constater l'accueil chaleureux et les qualités humaines exceptionnelles de cette famille. Assurément une expérience inoubliable....
