Welcome to Teresa.
We are a family of two. I am in my early fifties and work as a health and wellbeing mental health officer. My daughter is 17 and is a passionate horse rider. We have a King Charles Spaniel who is adorable and extremely well-behaved. We also have recently welcomed a Yakutian Laika (Russian breed) puppy who is very boisterous in training and great fun. We also own our own horse, and he is liveried in Westport, where my daughter attends secondary school. We want to bring a student into our home to support them learn a new language because we both love meeting new people, and we want to energise our home. We live in the centre of Castlebar town, so if you want to go to any of the three local secondary schools there its a five-minute walk. You can also gym swim go to cinema shop or simply shop and enjoy a coffee, everything is on our doorstep. We also love to walk our dog in nearby woodlands, green areas and beside the lake. Please be aware that you are coming to a busy family home, with all the ups and downs of that experience. Communication is very important, and we appreciate that people come with an open respectful attitude not a sense of entitlement, and we will do all we can to make your stay a unique and amazing experience. An ACADEMIC day will start with a breakfast of cereal/yoghurt/fruit/toast along with tea/coffee/orange juice and anything else your heart desires. You can make a packed lunch and a drink with a sandwich or bagel topped with chicken/ham/egg mayo/salmon/cream cheese/salad or whatever you fancy. We then drive you to school where you follow the schedule and curriculum till pick up which it at 4, (1.15 on a Friday!). We can then enjoy either grab a snack or go and have supper. Our evenings are usually delegated to gym/swim/tennis, horse riding, dog walking or film watching. In the winter, we love nothing better than to make popcorn and watch Netflix before bed. We also would be really interested in finding out what you would like to do on weekends and support you in doing it.
In an excursion stay, we start the day with a delicious breakfast of cereal/yoghurt/fruit/toast along with tea/coffee/orange juice and anything else your heart desires. We can then enjoy the gym/swim/tennis, horse riding, dog walking. We also know all the historical sights and green spaces and coastal walk all over Mayo! There is a small theatre in Castlebar town which features the work of local playwrights, poets and musicians. There is a small art gallery upstairs which features many different exhibitions and a lovely coffee shop downstairs for a nice lunch. For bigger cultural pursuits and shopping, Galway city is an hour and a half away, where we will definitely have an excursion day! We will be really open to chatting with you about what the local area has to offer, what your interests are and how we can support them. We look forward to meeting you very soon! We like people to get involved in daily chores and use their initiative to help out where they can, we appreciate your involvement as you are coming to a busy home with a single parent, and we want you to have an amazing unique experience we do support kindness, initiative and willingness to ask questions we do not value a sense of entitlement or constant expectation.
Manon est très contente de sons séjour chez Teresa. Elle a été très bien reçue et garde un très bon souvenir de ce premier séjour à l'étranger seule (à 17 ans). Teresa est très disponible et nous avons eu un très bon contact. Elle est à l'écoute et communique beaucoup aussi bien avec Manon qu'avec moi pour s'assurer que tout se passe bien. Nous sommes très contents des progrès de Manon. Merci Teresa et Sienna pour votre accueil !
Notre fille a passé quinze jours chez Térésa qui a été très accueillante et rassurante (c'était le premier voyage seule de Judith, 15 ans, loin de sa famille). Judith a fait des progrès en anglais et a pu faire différentes activités sur place avec Térésa (visite, surf, s'occuper des chiens, etc) merci Térésa !
ma fille Lina à passer un excellent séjour chez Teresa . Elle a fait plein d'activités et son niveau d'anglais s'est nettement amélioré . Je recommande à tout le monde de venir chez Teresa et sa fille qui sont des personnes très sympathique. Et j'en profite par la même occasion de les remercier .
