Welcome to the home of Ken and Carol in Spain
We have 8 children but they now mostly live in the UK. Our youngest child is still in Spain, but has his own place. We home-schooled the three youngest children up to and including iGCSE exams. I am an Early Years Specialist and have a teaching online qualification. My husband is an engineer and can fix anything.
We have two dogs, Melrose and Dundee, and a pig named Simon! We live near the coastal town of Puerto de Mazarrón and the historic city of Cartagena in Spain. We love the sea and boats. We built our home ourselves and we also have a large swimming pool in the garden.
We are very flexible. Breakfast 8:30 to 9:30 depending on the weather and time of year. We offer boat trips to see the dolphins, trips to the nearby historic city with museums and castles, table tennis in the garden, beach days, meals out, and round the fire pit. We have guitars, a saxophone, and a keyboard in the house, so we are happy for music to be played. We have a large swimming pool in the garden that is available all day. We live in 4000 sq mts of land surrounded by hills and trees. Lunch would either be a picnic on the beach, boat, or round the pool in the garden. Afternoon activities will be as varied as the morning: cycle rides, quad rides, canoeing, and walks. Dinner is usually at home. Evenings are spent playing games like Uno or Scrabble...in English, of course! Or sitting around the fire pit and chilling to music.
Notre fils Jean a passé 2 semaines au mois de juin chez Carol et Ken, puis notre fille Isaure a passé 2 semaines chez eux au mois de juillet. Tous les 2 ont passé un séjour formidable et sont revenus ravis! Outre les progrès notables en anglais, ils sont revenus bronzés et détendus! Carol s'occupe à plein temps des enfants et leur propose plein d'activités et de balades. Un grand merci à elle! Vous pouvez lui confier vos enfants sans aucun problème!
Le séjour de ma fille s'est très bien passé ! Carol et Ken sont 2 personnes bienveillantes et de confiance. Ils ont été au petit soin pour Bertille. Elle ne s'est pas ennuyé pendant 2 semaines ! Entre les différentes activités faites (golf, volleyball, plage, piscine, quad, dauphins, etc...), les visites, les jeux, les petits concerts et bien sûr les nombreuses discussions... Merci encore ! Je les recommande les yeux fermés ! Bertille était ravie.
Mon séjour (2 semaines) chez Carol et Ken a été formidable. On se sent immédiatement intégrer dans leur famille. J’ai pu réellement progresser en anglais grâce à nos nombreuses discussions sur des sujets diverses mais aussi grâce à toutes les rencontre que j’ai pu faire. Mercii beaucoup. My stay (2 weeks) with Carol and Ken was great. You immediately feel part of their family.
