Welcome to Sarah's place.
Welcome!! We are a family of four and we live in a small town in Doubs. I am originally from Devon, in the southwest of England, and I have two daughters aged 14 and 18 who are bilingual. I have been a national education teacher for over 15 years and I offer courses tailored to your level and your way of learning.
There will never be other stays at the same time as yours. However, I can accommodate friends or siblings at the same time. The maximum length of stay is one week.
It's vacation time so we wake up around 8 am. The English breakfast is ready! The English class starts at 9:30 am. After warming up, the first hour is spent on traditional exercises to review grammar points and answer questions. At 10:30 am, it's break time: "Would you like some water or a cup of coffee?". At 10:45 am, it's back to class for an hour where we will tackle a text or listening comprehension with the aim of acquiring strategies to succeed better in class. We will end the morning with a game - in English, of course!
Lunch is served on the terrace if the sun is shining. After the meal, it's time to walk the dog or visit the stables – all while speaking in English. If it's hot, we seek coolness in the forest. Why not do some Geocaching along the way? After the walk, we play a game in English. An Escape Game, perhaps? Yes, another "Knowledge is Power" on the PlayStation? We can also cook (following a recipe in English) cakes for tea. Carrot Cake? Scones? Shortbread? It's up to you to decide!
Next, it's "quiet time" - reading in English, listening to music, watching a series in the original version, ... anything is possible. Dinner is friendly – in summer, the barbecue is essential! Otherwise, a pancake party, "fish and chips", or a pizza at the family restaurant.
Depending on the weather, the day can end with a moment of relaxation – a last walk, games in the garden, or even a last swim in the pool. In case of bad weather, we can choose a movie to watch in the cinema room with a giant screen.
Of course, this is a "typical" day, but there will be at least one "special" outing during your stay according to your tastes and budget: bowling, tree climbing, laser tag, a trip to the cinema (in original version), a sightseeing visit, an amusement park, a zoo ... it's up to you to choose!
