NEW - Welcoming International Students into Schnel Loving Family Home
Hello! I am a dedicated and caring host mother, with a passion for education and cultural exchange. As a qualified teacher in Business Studies and Functional Skills English, I have been teaching students from Year 7 to 16+ for over a decade.
My experience in the educational field ensures that I understand the academic and emotional needs of students.
I am also a mother of two wonderful boy children, aged 16 and 11 and we live in a warm and inviting home where students from around the world can feel welcomed and supported.
Experience Hosting Students
With six years of experience hosting international students from various parts of Europe, I have had the pleasure of accommodating both long-term and short-term stays.
Our home has become a second home for many students, and I take pride in providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
Our Home
Our five-bedroom house offers a comfortable and spacious setting for students.
Here’s what our home includes:
- Living Room: A cosy space for relaxation and family time.
- Piano Quiet Room: Perfect for music practice or quiet study.
- Dining Room: Where we share meals and conversations.
- Kitchen: The heart of our home, where delicious and healthy meals are prepared.
- Garden: A lovely outdoor space for family BBQs and relaxation.
I host boys and girls who from the ages of 10 to 18 years, who are looking for a friendly home.
Accommodations
I offer two spare bedrooms that can accommodate up to four students, with two students sharing each room. These rooms are well-furnished with single sofa beds, providing a comfortable and quiet environment for studying and resting.
What I Offer
I am committed to offering a comprehensive hosting package that can be tailored to meet individual needs. Here’s what students can expect:
- Special Dietary Accommodations: Meals can be customised to meet special dietary requirements.
- Healthy Meals: Daily breakfast, lunch (packed lunch), and dinner are provided, ensuring a balanced and nutritious diet.
- Evening Discussions and Outings: We engage in evening discussions on various topics and enjoy regular outings to explore local attractions and culture.
- Educational Support: As a qualified teacher, I provide academic support and guidance to help students succeed in their studies.
Our day starts between 7:30 am and 9:30 am with breakfast. Breakfast consists of a choice of cereals, toasts, or bagels with jam or ham.
For guests studying English, there are options to study, complete written tasks, and research from 10 am to 12 noon.
Alternatively, guests can participate in a morning and afternoon activity, such as a day outing, from 11 am to 3 pm.
For the evening meal, we eat from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and options include meat, fish, or vegetarian dishes.
I cater to special dietary requirements, and we all eat together.
After dinner, guests can participate in playing games, playing the piano, or watching TV.
