Bec and Andrew - Welcome to our beautiful home in the Périgord-Limousin National Park.
Hi, my name is Bec and I previously worked in special needs schools in England. I have worked in schools for many years and I'm qualified to teach English. My partner Andrew was a police officer for many years, and in England he lived on a canal boat. We love to travel and meet new people, and we enjoy exploring. At home, we listen to music and enjoy cooking and entertaining. If you come to stay with us, you will have a fabulous time exploring the area and spending time at the activity lake very near us. You will join us at local events like a small music festival and food festival. Please tell us what your hobbies are. We have a wonderful zoo close by, where you could enjoy a morning with alpacas and donkeys or learn to paddleboard. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom. We have a beautiful little dog called Aggi who is very calm and loves meeting new people. I speak French to a high standard, so if there is an emergency or if you just feel a little overwhelmed, I can understand your problem.
PLEASE NOTE THE YOUNGEST STUDENT WE CAN TAKE IS 15 YEARS OLD. Please note the youngest student we can accommodate is 15yrs old. You will have a private bedroom and possibly a private bathroom. I have worked extensively with children and young adults but would also be very happy to host older adults and couples.
I have an advanced TEFL UK Cambridge qualification. I have taught English in Malaysia and Cambodia. My spoken French is very good if there is an emergency. My partner and I speak English with a clear accent which is easy to understand. There will usually only be one student staying but I'm happy for siblings or friends to come together.
We will all have breakfast together and then possibly take Aggie for a walk. Depending on the time of year, we might spend some time in the garden or the vegetable plot or go into one of the local villages. We could visit a local market and then prepare lunch together. If you would like to have English lessons, we would do those after lunch. If the weather is hot, we could go to the lake for a swim and have a drink or an ice cream. In the afternoon, we could play some board games and then start preparing the evening meal together. If you're not interested in cooking, you might enjoy visiting a local castle or learning about the local history from Andrew. If you enjoy being busy in the garden, you can help us with one of our projects. It's important for us to understand what activities you like, so we can provide you with the best experience possible. We can do activities such as horse riding, walking with alpacas and donkeys, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, or we could visit the zoo or go for bike rides. There is a cinema close to us, as well as a great pizza restaurant and kebab restaurant.

Marion, 17 ans dans quelques jours, est rentrée enchantée de son séjour. L'accueil de Rebecca et d'Andrew a été chaleureux, et Aggie y a largement contribué à sa façon. Ils ont été très attentifs à ses besoins, tant pratiques que linguistiques, et les activités proposées ont été très variées, de la baignade en lac à la visite du musée d'Oradour, sans parler du cinéma en v.o. bien sûr. L'hébergement était confortable, les repas typiquement britanniques, et l'immersion linguistique efficace. Enfin la présence de nombreux Anglais dans la région pourrait presque faire croire que la Manche a été franchie ! Un grand merci à cette famille, que nous recommandons chaudement.
Notre fille Jeanne (13 ans et demi) a effectué un séjour d’une semaine (en immersion) chez Rebecca et Andrew dans le Périgord (et leur adorable petit chien). Elle a été très satisfaite de l’accueil chaleureux, des conditions de logement confortables et des activités qu’elle a faites : entre autres cuisine à la maison (elle s’est régalée des plats préparés) , visionnages de films et jeux de société en anglais, visite de lieux touristiques et culturels, restaurant et café, promenades, leçons d’anglais adaptées à l’examen qu’elle passera l’an prochain (Cambridge preliminary exam). A souligner que Rebecca a toutes les qualifications et une longue expérience d’enseignement et qu’elle s’est fortement impliquée avec Jeanne. La gentillesse, la disponibilité totale, le professionnalisme, l’empathie qu’ont manifesté Rebecca et Andrew ont été remarquables et Jeanne s’est sentie parfaitement à l’aise avec eux d’autant plus qu’ils se sont adaptés à ses besoins (elle n’est pas sportive par exemple ce qui excluait des activités trop physiques). D’un naturel timide Jeanne s’est laissée aller à beaucoup plus s’exprimer oralement en anglais, ce qui a renforcé sa confiance en elle. L’usage du français a été strictement limité aux mots qu’elle ne comprenait pas et elle a été dans un bain d’immersion totale dans la langue anglaise. Je ne peux que recommander avec enthousiasme ce séjour chez Rebecca et Andrew qui est une alternative sérieuse et plus abordable qu’un séjour à l’étranger.
