Welcome to the house of David and Estef
Hello,
We are a family of four (my husband, my two children, and I). We live in the center of Madrid. We have enjoyed several vacations in France and the USA, where I have worked and have American friends.
We have also had the experience of hosting French Au Pair girls for four years, with whom we still maintain a good relationship. Our American friends have also sent their daughter to us on different occasions in the summer for her to practice Spanish and enjoy immersion in a Spanish family.
I am interested in having my children interact with children their age or around that age and from other nationalities for cultural enrichment.
My two children study at a French school in Madrid, so they are bilingual in French and Spanish, and their level of English is intermediate.
My older son likes soccer, roller skating, biking, and the countryside. He is happy both in the city visiting museums, the center, and attending theaters and musicals, as well as in the countryside, and he has experienced both since we live in the city but sometimes go to the village in the Sierra de Madrid.
My younger son has a lower level of English but also enjoys his classes at school a lot, and when we have traveled abroad, he is very curious about English. He also likes soccer on weekends. He enjoys listening to music, especially classics, and his favorite is the Jackson Five. Since he was little, he has been attending music school, where he plays the viola. He is very sociable and always likes to make friends. He also has an interest in biology and exploring the countryside and animals, but we don’t have a pet.
We enjoy exploring the city of Madrid by visiting museums, exhibitions, theaters, restaurants, and walking in the city's large parks. When we go to the village, we are in nature to go to the mountains, have picnics, ride bikes, go swimming in the summer, etc. The Sierra de Madrid is spectacular, and we are close to monumental cities like Segovia, Ávila, or Toledo. We also like to travel and discover other places.
At Christmas, we enjoy touring the city of Madrid on the special Christmas bus to see the lights. It is impressive. We also visit the Christmas markets.
We can host a child aged 8-11 years old as well, as that is the age of my children. We can accommodate two people if they are family. We only have one guest bedroom available.
There will be no other guests.
On the weekends, sometimes when we stay in Madrid, we usually go out for a bike ride, rollerblading, or play soccer in the morning. In the afternoon, we meet up with friends who have children of the same age and spend the rest of the day together in the countryside or in the city. We go to the center of Madrid, to the cinema, museums, music shows or theater, museum exhibitions, shopping in the city center, restaurants, etc.
Other weekends, we go to the countryside and there we walk in the mountains, try local typical products, and enjoy nature.
Nous avons eu une expérience exceptionnelle avec la famille d'Estefania qui a accueilli notre fils de 14 ans en immersion totale, grâce à Linguifamily. Estefania, la maman, a su préparer un programme parfaitement équilibré, avec des sessions d’apprentissage le matin (tant à l’écrit qu’à l’oral) et des après-midis remplis de visites culturelles fascinantes pour une découverte approfondie de Madrid. Notre fils s’est très bien entendu avec leurs deux enfants et a participé avec enthousiasme aux nombreuses activités qu’ils ont faites ensemble. Comme nous lui avions mentionné notre intérêt pour la gastronomie, Estefania a également pris soin de lui faire découvrir les spécialités culinaires madrilènes, ce qui a été un vrai régal pour lui ! Au-delà des magnifiques souvenirs, notre fils a considérablement progressé en espagnol et se sent aujourd’hui bien plus à l’aise, tant à l’écrit qu’à l’oral. Cette semaine d’immersion a été particulièrement enrichissante et mémorable pour lui. Nous remercions chaleureusement toute la famille pour leur accueil exceptionnel et l'expérience incroyable qu'ils ont offerte à notre fils. Un grand merci pour cette belle aventure !
