Welcome to our home in historical St Albans, just outside London
My husband and I live in our family home, where we raised our four children. It's a suburban three floored house with gardens, fruit trees and a cabin to relax in. Our street is calm and tree lined, with a pretty park.
I have been teaching English for many years and currently teach part time at a London Language school. My husband is a Company Director and enjoys cooking home-made meals. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and beautiful city, which is just a 20 minute train journey from London.
We welcome singles, couples or a small family, depending on your needs.
We assure you there will be no other guests here of the same nationality and that you will experience full English immersion in many forms [whether speaking with us, my children, lesson time, public interaction, during activities, watching films at home or at the cinema. Please message us if you'd like to know more about this.
A typical day:
-Breakfast after 8:30am with hosts [can be in the kitchen, dining room or patio]
- English lessons after breakfast in garden room.
- From 11:30am you are free to explore St Albans historical town and famous Abbey, or visit London city, go golfing in one of 3 local courses, take a train to Cambridge, enjoy the local leisure centre [gym, swim, rock climb], play tennis, enjoy many local walks, go bike riding, experience our local market, see a film at the retro cinema or enjoy a full day excursion to Kew Botanical Gardens.
- Lunch can be in the form of a picnic, sandwich, meal with the hosts, or dining out.
-6pm dinner with hosts [if desired]. This can be a good English speaking experience if you join in the meal preparation and chatting over dinner.
-8pm Watch a movie with the hosts or play some fun interactive board games
